Austin, TX – Seven members of a family, including 5 children, were evaluated for carbon monoxide poisoning in a Southwest Austin home Saturday morning, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.
EMS responded to reports of a family’s exposure to carbon monoxide in a private residence in Southwest Austin around 8 a.m. Saturday.
Two adults were transported to St. David’s Medical Center and 2 children were taken to Dell Children’s Medical Center for evaluation. Three additional teenagers, who had left the home during the morning, were traced and evaluated on-scene by an additional unit.
EMS advised the public to install a carbon monoxide detector in their homes to avoid such situations.
