Jefferson, NJ – Two employees of the A&P grocery store on Berkshire Valley Road were taken to the hospital Friday after they were poisoned by carbon monoxide from a faulty heater, New Jersey Herald reported.

Jefferson Police Capt. Eric Wilsusen told the newspaper no customers were affected by the fumes, which were caused by a faulty heater in the back of the store.

Seventeen employees were also evaluated for possible exposure — two of whom suffered the most serious exposure, the newspaper reported.
