Bethlehem, PA – The Steel Ice Center in Bethlehem is open today after a Zamboni was apparently left running Saturday night, causing carbon monoxide to sicken 20 people.

An announcement on the center’s website says that the Bethlehem Fire Department cleared the building and the center is reopen with its full schedule.

First responders were called at 6:22 p.m. Saturday to the bar, restaurant and ice-skating rink on the SteelStacks campus in Bethlehem. Bethlehem EMS Supervisor William Guth said Saturday that 20 people were taken to local hospitals, including two who were unconscious.

Various calls to authorities blamed the carbon monoxide on a Zamboni left running and a propane leak, Guth said. First responders had cleared the facility and were ventilating it as of 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
