Collins, IA – Authorities launched a death investigation Tuesday after three people died at a mobile home park in Collins.
The Story County Sheriff’s Department said it conducted a welfare check at Cole Village Trailer Park around 8:30 a.m.
Story County Lt. Leanna Ellis said investigators suspect carbon monoxide poisoning caused the deaths.
“It would be believed possibly from the furnace,” Ellis said. “The trailer was sealed up pretty tight but until we’re able to complete the investigation we can’t tell for certain.”
The Story County Sheriff’s Department said it is unclear when the adults died.
