Bay Shore, NY – Three people were hospitalized after a carbon monoxide leak was reported at a Bay Shore senior living center early Thanksgiving morning.

The incident was reported at the Atria Senior Living Center 53 Ocean Avenue at about 4:18 a.m. after at least 4 occupants with complaints of feeling sick.

There were a total of 75 residents in the facility.

The Bay Shore-Brightwaters Rescue Ambulance was able to respond alongside Bay Shore Fire Department with the first 2 ambulances.

In addition the local fire department supplied a personnel bus, the Brentwood Legion ambulance provided an additional ambulance and the West Islip Fire Department also supplied an ambulance.

The three people were transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore.

Firefighters found and isolated the source of the carbon monoxide.

Resources were also offered by the Town of Islip Fire Marshals Office, Town of Islip HazMat, Suffolk County Fire Rescue and Emergency Services, Nassau County Emergency Services, Brentwood legion Ambulance, West Islip Fire Department, National Grid and the Office of Emergency Management.
