Seattle, WA – Three people were displaced Thursday after a gas explosion in a garage caused a house fire in Beacon Hill, according to a Seattle Fire Department news release.

The release states that the Fire Alarm Center received several calls about 9:30 a.m. Thursday for reports of an explosion and fire at a home in the 4900 block of 30th Avenue South.

Crews responded and were able to put out the fire, which had spread from the garage to other areas of the home.

Seattle City Light and Puget Sound Energy also responded to the scene for a gas meter leaking natural gas and downed power lines, the release states.

There were no reported injuries and investigators ruled the fire was an accident.

The estimated loss from the fire is $325,000.
