Firestone, CO – Two roof workers were injured when a house exploded on Cherryvale Street in Firestone at 11:13 a.m.
According to authorities, two people were working on the roof when an explosion happened on the second floor of the home, blowing out the windows on the second story.
Both of those workers were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Their injuries were minor, according to Frederick-Firestone Fire.
The homeowner was in the basement at the time of the explosion and was uninjured.
Three cats were able to escape the explosion, but the homeowner is still searching for a fourth cat.
The explosion did not cause a fire in the home. Police say the explosion was caused by natural gas.
