Cranston, RI – Two people were found dead in a house in Cranston where authorities say high levels of carbon monoxide were found.
The Providence Journal reports that Cranston police and fire officials responded to a house on Pontiac Avenue around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday for a report of two people who were unresponsive inside.
The fire department confirmed the death of a 40-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman. Their identities were not immediately released.
The department said there were high levels of carbon monoxide inside when they arrived.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths is ongoing. The state medical examiner will determine the causes of death.
