Byng, OK – Two men are dead in a suspected carbon monoxide poisoning in the Pontotoc County town of Byng Thursday.
Deputies tell us they responded to a home in the 500 block of South Main Street Thursday morning after a neighbor found a 69-year-old man dead inside.
A 62-year-old man was found dead in the home’s garage apartment.
Two deputies were taken to the hospital to be treated. We’re told they are okay now.
The neighbor told deputies he kicked in the door of the home because he had lent the man a generator and had not seen him in two days.
That generator was found in the hallway of the home.
As deputies were leaving, a passerby told them a man who lived in the garage apartment should be home because his car was parked out front.
They kicked in the door and found that man dead on the couch of the garage apartment.
